Product selection was slow and difficult, resulting in the wrong suggestions for customers.
Rhino-Rack had a serious problem on their hands - their existing website was difficult to maintain and customers were finding it increasingly challenging to select the right product for their vehicle. On top of this, Rhino-Rack were spending way too much time maintaining vehicle product information globally as they retail their products in over 25 countries.
This was all working against Rhino-Rack and where they wanted to be as a digital brand. Something had to change to make their lives and the experience of customers better.
Solution
The integrated solution presents Rhino-Rack accurately and makes product selection super easy.
Rhino-Rack offers customers a selection from more than 5,000 products, so it was necessary to provide tools to accurately match a customer's vehicle to the right product. Since the digital strategy was going global, it was also critical to deploy a platform with multilingual capabilities, content versioning and advanced workflow as Rhino-Rack websites will be managed by multiple people across the world.
With Sitecore, we've been able to deploy a fully responsive website which provides an optimised experience across desktop, tablet and mobile. Rhino-Rack have been so impressed with the experience on mobile devices that they started installing tablets to allow their customers to browse their products in stores.
To enable scalability in the future with the rollout of websites internationally, the Rhino-Rack live environment is hosted in the cloud taking advantage of AWS services like RDS (Relational Database Service), S3 (Simple Storage Solution) and CDN (Content Delivery Network).
