About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a developer who is passionate about building websites using some of the latest technology.

We are looking for a junior-mid level developer who has a strong foundation in the software development lifecycle including various practices and standards that should be adhered to.

What Are We Looking For?

Your main duties & responsibilities are:

  • Participate in pair programming activities with more experienced developers
  • Conduct code reviews to ensure code quality and to gain more knowledge from how other developers approach tasks
  • Communicatie within the project and with the wider company to seek help or assistance
  • Attend client facing meetings to gain insight into the larger view of a project
  • Work with more experienced team members to understand the solution architecture for a project
  • Work semi-autonomously and make micro decisions for tasks that have been assigned
  • Scoping, planning and estimating effort for tasks
  • Identify, research and present findings to task related issues to more experienced developers
  • Assist more experienced developers in producing system and technical design documents
  • Work with and within different disciplines


A TAFE (or equivalent) Diploma in Software or Web Development is desirable but not necessary.

We value common sense and practical experience as highly as any degree, so don’t be afraid of having a go.



  • Minimum of 1 year of software development experience with an agency or within the industry
  • Minimum of 1 years experience using HTML and CSS
  • Minimum of 1 year of writing code using JavaScript or jQuery


  • Experience using a variety of CMS solutions such as Umbraco, Kentico, EpiServer, AEM, WordPress.
  • Experience with DevOps using one or more of the following
    • TeamCity*
    • Octopus*
    • VSTS
    • Jenkins
  • Experience using TypeScript
  • Experience with front-end frameworks such as Vue, React or Angular
  • Experience using NodeJS, and NodeJS task runners such as Gulp or Grunt
  • Experience using SCSS
  • Experience using scripting languages (eg. PowerShell)
  • Experience setting up, configuring and maintaining infrastructure
    • On Premise
    • Cloud (Azure, AWS, GCP)
  • 2+ years experience with unit testing practices and methodologies

The successful applicant will need to have the following skills and capabilities:

  • 1 year of experience in successfully implementing web development projects in complex, fast-moving environments using agile & blended approaches for a Digital Agency or Professional Services organisation
  • Foundational understanding of Agile & Traditional SDLCs
  • Implementing digital solutions based on CMS & eCommerce platforms
  • Excellent oral and written communication
  • Creating professional documentation using MS Office and Google Apps
  • Excellent time management skills

Nice To Haves

Not absolutely essential, but it would be great if you had knowledge or exposure to:

  • Solid working knowledge of general networking and web concepts (SSL, APIs, HTTP, CORS)
  • Awareness of Digital & Technology Trends
  • Able to write code applying best practice security principles (protecting against XSS, DDoS, SQL Injection attacks)
  • Able to write code using the following design principles
    • SOLID
    • YAGNI
    • KISS
    • DRY
  • Able to write code that uses software design patterns
