2016 in Review

New Customers, Great Projects and a Growing Team

As we look forward to 2017, there’s a little twinge of nostalgia as we look at the year that was in 2016. For Switch it has been a phenomenal year with growth in our team, new customers and challenges that we’ve nailed.

Busy Start, Stunning Results

Switch headed into 2016 with plenty of excitement, the opportunity to work with customers on their digital transformation underpinned by Sitecore 8.x was always going to deliver some stunning results. That’s been a major theme throughout 2016 for our growing team, the ability to deliver on the latest technology while keeping projects on time and to budget.

Project highlights this year include the development of the Toshiba Business website on Sitecore. As a global leader in technology, it was exciting to work with Toshiba Business on Sitecore Commerce, xDB and Sitecore 8.x with integration into Sharepoint and Oracle. We were also lucky to work with RACWA on further enhancements to their application (which we’d won the Sitecore Digital Innovator of the Year award for). The further expansion of this solution ensured that RACWA were continually delivering an experience to customers that was evolving and meeting their needs.

As our team continued to grow, our portfolio of customers diversified as well. Firstly with a move into property with DEXUS and then into manufacturing with ZIP Water. Our team even got their skivvies on when we took over the digital work for The Wiggles! Further enhancements for Rhino-Rack delivered the latest Sitecore technology to their online presence and sets them up to leverage their strategic roadmap into 2017. Our work for the Federal Government kept the ACMA website on Sitecore running smoothly.

This year we also attended Sitecore Symposium in New Orleans where we spoke on our experience with Sitecore and eCommerce. With Sitecorians from all around the World, it was a wonderful opportunity to connect with colleagues at all levels.

We haven’t taken our foot off the pedal as we wrap up 2016, having recently launched the new digital strategy for DEXUS Retail which has encompassed 10 websites for some of the best shopping destinations nationally. Our team has also been working with the Australian Sports Commission website on their Play by the Rules website using Sitecore!

Amazing Relationships

Of course, none of this would have been possible without our tremendous customers. We’ve been so lucky to work with them on projects that are truly inspiring, using the latest technology to not only transform organisations but to provide customers with the best possible experience. There have been plenty of challenges thrown at us in 2016 and we’re over the moon to have knocked them over.

But it is our super talented team that I want to pay special acknowledgement to, they’ve worked hard throughout 2016 to deliver some of our finest projects. Each and every day they collaborate together to achieve what sometimes looks like the impossible and they’ve continually put our customers first to ensure they have the very best experience possible. I thank you without reservation for putting your hearts and souls into everything that you do.

What’s ahead in 2017? It’ll be an extremely busy start to the year for the Switch team, we have multiple Sitecore projects launching and a stack of new work that we’re getting stuck into. We’re not going to spoil any surprises, you’ll just have to keep an eye on us!

Thanks for a great 2016, have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

— Steve Nelson
