Client Introduction

The Communications and Media Law Association (CAMLA) brings together a wide range of people interested in law and policy relating to communications and the media. The Association includes lawyers, journalists, broadcasters, members of the telecommunications industry, politicians, publishers, academics and public servants.
 Project Overview

CAMLA approached Switch I.T. with the need to not only upgrade their existing online presence, but streamline their existing business processes and automate the manual tasks involved in the day to day administration of the association.
The new strategy resulted in the following:
- Online Membership Registration
The original post and fax based registration system has been replaced with secure online registration and credit card processing facilities that completely automate the task for CAMLA staff.

- Online Seminar Promotion and Registration
CAMLA staff can easily post new seminar information on the web site via a custom Content Management System (CMS). The public can then securely register for these seminars online via Switch I.T.'s Manual Credit Card Processing system. Using this system, customer's credit card details are encrypted and securely transferred to a payment processing system for manual processing by CAMLA staff via an EFTPOS terminal. The registrants details are automatically written to the seminar database and an Excel spreadsheet listing each seminars registrants can be generated with a single click from the CMS.

- Online Publications
CAMLA now publish their traditionally offline newsletter, known as the Communications Law Bulletin (CLB) on the web site. CAMLA staff can add a CLB at any time by completing a simple form which uploads the CLB to the web site server.

- Powerful Content Management System
The entire web site was build on our secure SwitchBack Content Management Solution. This systems allows CAMLA staff to maintain the entire web site in-house.

The new online strategy engendered by Switch I.T. has resulted in an easy to use, professional and secure web site that completely automates many of the tasks involved in the day to day running of CAMLA.
 What the client said...

"Switch I.T. provided us with a very effective solution, in a highly professional and responsive way. They were always happy to accomodate and implement our development requests very quickly and accurately. An added (and unexpected) benefit of the new site is that it has allowed many of CAMLA's offline administrative functions to be significantly streamlined by the implementation of the processes used online."
Duncan Giles President, CAMLA
