In order maintain its role as one of the most competitive, professional financial advising firms in Wollongong, Symes Warne required a web site that would not only reflect its brand and services online, but also provide a genuinely useful value-added service to its current clients.
Switch I.T. worked closely with Symes Warne to identify the type of services to be offered online to its clients. At the same time, a simple, professional interface was developed to reflect the firm's offline branding while general content about the firm and its services was developed. Strong consideration was given to maintaining high levels of usability for its target market, which consisted partially of retirees and those not traditionally versed with the Internet.
A secure, password protected client extranet was developed to provide each value-added service, personalised for each client. The secure extranet featured access to the Client Newsletter, Short-term, Long-term and Special Interest Rates, Online Calculators, detailed investing information and a Current Issues area that highlights any current financial news/information clients may find interesting.
A fully customised Content Management System was also developed to enable staff to maintain all areas of the web site in-house, such as modify Interest Rate data, publish Newsletters and highlight Current Issues. The simple, intuitive interface meant no staff training was required.
