Workplace and Health Assessment Module (WHAM)

Client Introduction

The WHAM modules have been developed by the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, after it was recognised that medical practitioners practising in rural and remote areas have fewer opportunities for supervised training in workplace and health assessments, making it difficult to ensure competencies in these areas are maintained.

Project Overview

The Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) turned to Switch I.T. for ideas on how this powerpoint based course could be transformed into a simple, easy to use online learning system.

Switch I.T. delivered an interactive web-based solution that includes the following features:

  • Rural medical practitioners can register online and start the course in seconds.
  • The system remembers what part of the course the registrants is up to, directing them back to that point when they next login.
  • Integrated message board system that allows practitioners to actively discuss any topics of the course together online.
  • Results capture system that feeds directly into a secure reporting system for AFOM staff.
  • The ability for AFOM staff to view graphical reports and results and export them directly to Excel.

The system was officially launched at an Australia-wide teleconference to an extremely warm welcome from the Australian medical community.
